In 1946, Sebago was founded by three New England natives: Daniel J. Wellehan, William Beaudoin, and Joseph Cordeau. Sebago’s first shoe was a hand-sewn penny loafer, which was influenced by the Indian moccasin. By 1954, Sebago celebrated their production of a million shoes. The Docksides® were than introduced in 1970 as the boat shoe, which became a big hit. Sebago is known for their craftsmanship and hand-sewn quality. Today, Sebago produces one of the most popular boat shoes in multiple colors and materials.
